Some of my poetry
By the Sea Shore
Today the sea is insidiously still, yetA grating current of restlessnessStirs passionately the realm, thatNeptune’s kingdom underneath. Hear the seagulls call to dreams,Salty air and long arrows of sprayAs the sea meets rock-fists of landListen, you hear the water-earth fray And the to and fro of peddles and sandAs waves heave and cease, again begin With timid, yet now cadence more quick To bring the quivering song of sadness in. This tempest of a sea I cannot ever tameSwirling, slashing and slushing of many a waveRocking, shocking the boat as a game, butThere is a place on my shore you may craveWhere raging sound and silence will meetHere we can listen and find rapturous retreat. Come, be there, and here let us be loving.
Belonging
Emerging from the slumbering silence,A wave wishing the shifting sand, breaksUpon your fleeting footprint, a frozenMovement of your staying presence, alsoCaught in my gossamer of memory. How our undying longing streams asRivers do towards that grand meeting, whereOur false selves flow into deeper waters. For my memory of you is but a lit illusionAdorned with flowering heartfelt feelings Blind to the lineaments of your fierce face.Easy it is to forget, howThe reality of our belongingIs untamed to what we craveStriking our forlorn fragility. Now, when the light of duskSpills it blood over the dunesWhen the drawing tide leavesUs, tasting the salty air, weFind a ray of touching presence.
Coffee Shop Moments
Images as fast-beat notesQuicken the pace of a rushThe rush of American dreamsRestless hearts open notTo conversations idle aboutThis or that or whatever the chatAbout all that life may bringSipping from many a philosophyTasting various cakes of experienceEnsconced in the comfort of nowIn the haven from hasty desiresStrangers as warm rays touchingCome together in the smells ofSweetness and coffee bitter.Importance of place and timeCrumbles as muffins and breadWorries in oblivion do fall awayIn the caring of dialogues flowingSuch timeless moments just ariseAs flickers of sudden openings ofEternal passages of stories unfolding.Being here now seeingPeople coming and leavingAs thoughts expressed to friendsCalmness can soothe the heartThis, then, is the art of just being.
Forest Walk
The branches reach out, little, budding fingerstowards a patched, grey lightness of late dusk.Winter's breath outsideNestling in warm fleshHeaving crisp, fine sandOf a trodden roadSuch path, long, windedCurling cozily, alwaysAs a vein in a wood,Embraced by a soft Moonlit, unknown nightMy steps, breaking tenseSoft, enigmatic silenceAs snares breakingDisturbing, eerie As this forest, nowFinds this stranger, meNudged further inThe heart of all thingsHere, now, always IBehold, unseen to Tired, conflict eyesBeloved beautyYou, my love, are hereFar yet close enoughTo the beat of hearts Of what is awake.
The Well of Grief
I enter into my well of grief, its clear waters enveloping me, hereI can feel the honesty of sorrow, herethe loss of love and all what was trueshines as glistening stones and coinslying on that seemingly dark bottom. There are those who touch grief, feeling her around her edges, strickenby her sight, yet not pierced by her talons. With brittle strength they remain right, asa cement wall crumbling gradually, exiledfrom the tender touches and sudden smiles. When the sun screams his heat, When the orchestra of sounds awakens, the slumber rock is splintered. Nowthe world invites us to see with innocence.Time and time again, as the wind rises, the moon waxes and wanes, and flowersblossom and perish in winter’s grip, lifebeckons us to hear for the first time.I enter into my well of grief, onlyto discover what I knew long ago, asan ancient warrior silencing even the leaves,I hold my breath and pause all dreams. Here all what I hold dear is alive, maturedby losses, deaths and hurts. Herethe clear waters sustain sincerity. Here grief reveals what and whom I truly loved.
