Who am I?
Merijn Merbis is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. He specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, young adults and their parents.
Merijn has experience in the treatment of personality problems, especially among young adults, with Klinefelter and autism spectrum disorders, patients with medical problems and psychosomatic complaints. His specialisation also lies in ADHD, anxiety and depression. He has affinity with expat issues, having an international background himself.

Education and experience
Merijn completed his training as a clinical psychologist at the University Medical Centre in Utrecht in the department of child and adolescent psychiatry. He has also worked as a clinical psychologist at the Child and Youth Department of GGZ inGeest, and he has a year of experience at UvA Minds. He is currently working at the iHUB Zorg/Opvoedpoli and Cohen Psychologen.
He is involved as a consulting psychologist with the IWKA Kung Fu school in Amsterdam for children and adolescents as well as adults. He is an instructor for the Taiji Quan and Qi Gong classes. People with trauma and emotional problems can benefit from this, whereby movements are being performed with alertness.
He worked as a guest lecturer at various universities, is a lecturer at the RINO of Amsterdam and Utrecht, and supervisor for the Association for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. Merijn works together with the psychiatrist Nathalie Kuijpers , and with a workplace psychologist, nutritionist and lifestyle coach.
Merijn is fluent in Dutch and English.
